The Tennessee Titans are gearing up for their Week 9 matchup against the New England Patriots, but the team is facing significant challenges due to a slew of injuries. Both of the Titans’ top running backs, Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, were absent from Thursday’s practice, casting doubt on their availability for Sunday’s game. Pollard has not practiced all week due to a foot injury, while Spears was limited on Wednesday with a hamstring issue.

If both Pollard and Spears are unable to play, third-string running back Julius Chestnut is likely to draw the start and see substantial playing time against the Patriots. This development could be crucial for the Titans, who are already dealing with injuries to other key players, including wide receiver Tyler Boyd, who is out with a shoulder injury.

The Titans’ offense is further depleted with the absence of DeAndre Hopkins, who was traded, and Treylon Burks, who is on injured reserve. As a result, Calvin Ridley is expected to receive a significant number of targets. The team’s offensive line is also affected, with starter Dillon Radunz and backup Andrew Rupcich sidelined due to foot and triceps injuries, respectively.

The defense is not immune to the injury bug either, with several key players missing practice, including cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, rookie nose tackle T’Vondre Sweat, cornerback Tre Avery, and safety Amani Hooker. The depth of the Titans will be thoroughly tested in their upcoming matchup against the Patriots).
