Kalen Deboer Celebrity Golf Tournament

HOOVER, Ala. – Kalen DeBoer entertained young fans while golfing at the Regions Tradition celebrity pro-am on Wednesday at the Greystone Golf and Country Club. The head coach, known for his friendly demeanor, signed autographs and took photos between swings.

One young fan wearing a black Hewitt-Trussville hat approached DeBoer with a mini-helmet, asking him to sign it. The kid, eager for answers, also posed the question on everyone’s mind: “Who are you going to start at quarterback?” DeBoer laughed, illustrating the ongoing buzz surrounding the quarterback position ahead of the 2025 season.

Despite some rustiness in his golf game, DeBoer remained approachable. Throughout the day, he engaged with several fans, including a woman who crossed the ropes to snap a photo and supporters who playfully heckled him with “War Eagle.”

Another young admirer tried to catch DeBoer off-guard by asking if he was Nick Saban. Again, DeBoer laughed, responding that when Saban arrives, “you’ll know.” DeBoer’s lighthearted spirit was evident, making the event memorable for attendees.

On the 16th hole, DeBoer made a near-miss with a shot that could have hit spectators on the sideline. He made a point to walk over to the group, ensuring they were fine, and took photos with them. A man offered him a cold beer, which DeBoer graciously declined.

Throughout the day, DeBoer’s friendly, engaging personality shone, as he asked fans about their lives amidst the chants of “Roll Tide.” When asked about the quarterback situation, he humorously offered the young fan another option: “You.”
