GULF SHORES, Ala. — The legacy of pro wrestling icon James Harris, known to fans as Kamala, is officially returning to WWE. The announcement of a Legends deal with WWE was made through a family statement on March 27, 2025.

Emmer Jean Harris, the wife of the late Harris, expressed pride in the announcement, stating, “We couldn’t be prouder that James’s legacy is back home where it belongs.” She added that her primary goal in collaborating with the estate was to secure this Legends contract and eventually work towards Kamala’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

“I’ve always felt that’s where he belongs, and I think many of his fans would agree,” Emmer Jean Harris said.

The deal was facilitated by Jared Ashley, CEO and Founder of 16 Creative, a firm known for its focus on marketing, branding, and estate management based in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Ashley expressed his honor in working with the Harris family, stating, “It has been such an honor to work with this family over the past few years, and now with WWE, to help preserve Kamala’s incredible legacy.”

16 Creative has previously facilitated Legends deals for notable WWE figures, including Demolition, CRUSH, Koko B. Ware, Tito Santana, King Kong Bundy, and Junkyard Dog, and currently represents other wrestling legends such as Ted DiBiase and Mike Rotunda.

The reestablishment of Kamala’s legacy with WWE is exciting news for fans who hope to see his contributions recognized officially. While WWE has yet to announce details regarding any future events surrounding the Legends deal, the anticipation remains among fans who wish to witness the return of one of wrestling’s unforgettable characters.
