Kansas Basketball Exhibition Game Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Louisville Cardinals 90-82 in an exhibition basketball game on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the KFC Yum! Center. The victory showcased the Jayhawks’ depth and potential for the upcoming season, led by standout freshman Darryn Peterson.

Peterson, playing in his first game for Kansas, dominated the first half, scoring 26 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including six 3-pointers. “We did a lot of great things in the first half, in large part because of Darryn obviously,” said Kansas coach Bill Self. “It’s a good start and hopefully gives us momentum to get better over the next 10 days.”

The Jayhawks built an early lead, going up 9-0 in the first three minutes. Kansas maintained control, leading for more than 35 of the game’s 40 minutes. They took a 46-30 lead into halftime, as Peterson fueled a 30-18 run during the first half.

Key contributions came from Bryson Tiller and Flory Bidunga, who combined for 26 points in the second half. Tiller, a redshirt freshman, played impressively in relief, adding 12 points and seven rebounds. Bidunga scored 14 points, despite facing foul trouble throughout the game.

The match was marred by fouls, with both teams combining for 29 fouls. Bidunga was particularly affected, committing two fouls within the first four minutes. Kansas showed defensive strength, successfully limiting Louisville’s 3-point attempts.

Though Louisville made a push to close the gap, Kansas consistently countered, built leads, and prevented the Cardinals from gaining control. The Jayhawks’ next exhibition will be against Fort Hays State on Tuesday, October 28.
