Jac Caglianone Kansas City Royals Prospect

Kansas City, MO — After an impressive two weeks at Triple-A Omaha, top prospect Jac Caglianone is set to make his major league debut with the Kansas City Royals. ESPN insider Jeff Passan reported the promotion late Sunday night.

Caglianone, the No. 10 overall prospect in baseball, has been a standout in Triple-A, boasting a .319 batting average, six home runs, and an impressive 1.093 OPS across 12 games and 43 at-bats. His performance has highlighted a need for additional firepower in the Royals lineup, which has struggled recently.

The 22-year-old is expected to join the starting lineup on Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Upon debuting, he will be the first player for the Royals to make an appearance within a year of being drafted since 1986.

Upon receiving the news of his promotion, Caglianone expressed excitement and said his first call was to his father to share the big news. His numbers in the minors suggest he could be a valuable addition to help the Royals return to the postseason for the second consecutive year.

“I’m really looking forward to contributing however I can,” Caglianone said. “I’ve worked hard for this moment.”

As the Royals look to improve their performance, they are hopeful that Caglianone’s talent can help spur a turnaround.
