Los Angeles, California – Keanu Reeves and Aziz Ansari‘s new movie ‘Good Fortune‘ will be available digitally on Nov. 7. The film, which also stars Seth Rogen, presents a comedic twist on life’s challenges through the eyes of an angel and a gig worker.

A behind-the-scenes featurette shared exclusively with PEOPLE reveals that Reeves faced significant challenges during production. Just before filming a dance club scene, he suffered a knee injury that left him ‘hobbling’ around the set, as Ansari, 42, noted.

‘I like dancing, and it’s been fun partnering and, you know, all the moves and hand-offs,’ Reeves, 61, mentioned in the featurette. Despite being advised against dancing, he pushed through the pain because he wanted to complete the scene.

Ansari recalled, ‘There’s a scene where he has to do salsa dancing, and we’re like, “Keanu, you can’t do the salsa dancing.” But he insisted on filming.’ The commitment to the role demonstrated Reeves’s dedication to his craft.

Michael Arnold, the movie’s choreographer, expressed admiration for Reeves’s work ethic, saying he was willing to attempt ‘a more advanced step’ even after his injury. ‘He just pushed through the pain, shot everything, and we finished the movie,’ Ansari added.

Good Fortune follows Gabriel, portrayed by Reeves, who is a ‘well-meaning but rather inept angel.’ His character tries to improve the life of gig worker Arj, creating chaos when he swaps Arj’s life with that of his wealthy employer, played by Rogen.

Reeves recently discussed his knee injury on a podcast, sharing that he had to wear a brace for 10 weeks during his recovery. ‘But until they pulled the blood out of the capsule, the pain was banana-cakes,’ he added.

Fans can look forward to the digital release of Good Fortune and its exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette on Apple TV starting Nov. 7.
