Kevin Durant Playing Basketball Olympics

NEW YORK, NY — Kevin Durant, one of basketball’s greatest players and a future Hall of Famer, expressed deep emotions while discussing his Olympic experience in Netflix‘s new docuseries, ‘Court of Gold,’ released on Monday.

Durant, who has played for Team USA in the last four Olympic Games, spoke candidly about what playing for his country means to him. “Nah, for sure,” Durant said, tearing up. “It’s like, I come from neighborhoods where people don’t even talk to each other. So much hate in the world too. When you finally… people get to start laughing and joking for a game of ball, it’s cool to me.”

He continued, “It’s crazy to see a person who traveled so long to come see their favorite player play in the Olympics. They spend their money; they bring their whole family. It’s just dope to me.”]

Durant, who secured his fourth Olympic gold medal with Team USA during the most recent games, reflected on how basketball has impacted his life. “The game has saved my life, so… It brought me and my family out of a lot of b*******, so I’m just grateful for it,” Durant stated.

With a career spanning back to 2007, Durant has consistently been a top performer in the NBA, maintaining his status as a 15-time All-Star. His leadership was pivotal as Team USA navigated nail-biting victories against Serbia and France on their way to the gold.

“It’s really an honor to represent our country,” he emphasized, reiterating his appreciation for the sport that has shaped his life. “Playing on the Olympic team means so much to me.”

With the next Olympic Games scheduled for 2028, attention is already shifting towards whether Durant, who will turn 40 by then, will still be competing. Despite his age, his performance at 36 continues to suggest that he may still be a key player, similar to LeBron James’ longevity in the league.

As Durant ponders his future, one thing remains clear: his love for basketball and the joy it brings to fans continues to fuel his passion for the game.
