Kevin Holland Aims for Record-Breaking Fifth UFC Fight This Year

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Kevin Holland is set to fight Vicente Luque on Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, marking his third appearance in 2025. Holland aims to make this year memorable by potentially breaking the record for most UFC fights in a calendar year.
At 32 years old, Holland (27-13 MMA, 14-10 UFC) wants to increase his fight count this year. “By the end of the year, I think for sure I’ll hit five to six fights before the year is over with,” Holland told MMA Junkie and other reporters on Wednesday. “Realistically, we’re already at three, and two more would be easy as hell. Three more, really ideally, I could do.” He added that this would make next year less busy.
Holland is currently 1-1 this year, with a loss to Reinier de Ridder and a win over Gunnar Nelson. He aims to improve his record with a victory over Luque (23-10-1 MMA, 16-6 UFC), who he describes as a tough and resilient fighter. “Hopefully, he can tap into his old self and show up,” Holland said of Luque. “I’m a little longer than some of the other guys he’s faced before. I know he’s never fought a long guy like me, so I expect it to go my way 100 percent.”
Holland reflected on Luque’s ability to take punishment in the past, expressing concerns about the Brazilian’s performance in recent fights. “There are certain little things that Luque does, and I saw a couple interviews where he said some things. He doesn’t even believe he takes punishment like he used to. It’s sad to see that start to fade away,” he said. As he prepares for the fight, Holland’s confidence continues to grow.
Holland aims to prove that his skills can hold up in the Octagon as he continues to push for more opportunities in the increasingly competitive welterweight division.
