Key Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for NFL Week 12
As the NFL enters Week 12, fantasy football managers are facing a critical period with six teams on bye: the Bills, Bengals, Falcons, Jaguars, Jets, and Saints. Here are some top waiver wire pickups to help fill the gaps in your roster.
Bo Nix, the rookie quarterback for the Denver Broncos, is a standout pick. Despite being available in over 50% of Yahoo leagues, Nix has consistently performed well, scoring 17-plus points in five of his last seven games, including four games over 20 points. He has a favorable matchup against the Raiders in Week 12.
Will Dissly, the tight end for the Los Angeles Chargers, has been highly targeted in recent weeks, seeing no fewer than six targets in four of his last five games. His performance includes an 80-yard, one-touchdown game against the Bengals, making him a must-add with tight end positions being thin due to bye weeks.
Taysom Hill of the New Orleans Saints had a remarkable game against the Browns, rushing for 138 yards and three touchdowns while catching eight passes for 50 yards. Although the Saints have a bye in Week 12, Hill is worth adding and stashing for the stretch run.
Matthew Stafford, quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, has been on a hot streak, scoring 17-plus points in three of his last four games. His recent performance includes a four-touchdown, 27.8-point effort against the Patriots. Stafford faces the Eagles at home next week.
Jameis Winston, now the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, has scored 23-plus points in two of his first three games. Despite a tough upcoming matchup against the Steelers, Winston is a viable addition to fantasy rosters.
Jonnu Smith of the Miami Dolphins is coming off his best fantasy game, catching six passes for 101 yards with two touchdowns against the Raiders. Smith has seen at least six targets in five of his last six games and will face the New England Patriots in Week 12.
Cam Akers, running back for the Minnesota Vikings, is gaining traction as a viable handcuff and standalone player. With Aaron Jones underperforming, Akers saw 12 touches in a recent game and could benefit from the bye week landscape.
Other notable mentions include quarterbacks Will Levis of the Tennessee Titans and Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers, who have favorable upcoming schedules and could provide significant fantasy value.
