Khanyiso Mayo Back In Bafana Squad For Algeria Friendlies

Cape Town City striker Khanyiso Mayo has been named in Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos‘s 23-man squad for the upcoming FIFA Series friendlies in Algeria.

Mayo, who has been impressing in the DStv Premiership, returns after being omitted from the side that claimed a bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast last month.

Bafana are participating in the pilot project of the FIFA Series, and are set to face Andorra and Algeria in friendlies scheduled this month in Algeria.

The friendlies will take place at Stade du 19 Mai 1956 in Annaba on March 21 and at Stade de Nelson Mandela in Algiers on March 26.

Among other notable inclusions in the squad are Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma, former Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana, who now plays for FCSB in Romania, and midfielders Goodman Mosele of Chippa United and Grant Margeman of SuperSport United.

Additionally, some forwards like Mlondi Mbanjwa (AmaZulu), Elias Mokwana (Sekhukhune United), and Iqraam Rayners (Stellenbosch FC) have also earned call-ups for the two friendlies in Algeria.
