South Korean automaker Kia Motors has launched the new generation of its luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the Kia Carnival, in the Indian market. The launch is part of the company’s strategy to expand its portfolio in India. The new Carnival offers a range of updated features, a powerful engine, and enhanced safety measures. These improvements mark a significant upgrade from the previous generation.
The latest iteration of the Carnival features a redesigned exterior, showcasing Kia’s distinctive “Tiger Nose” grille and innovative ice cube-style LED projection lamps, which provide superior lighting at night. The car’s design enhancements give it a fresh and modern appearance, distinguishing it from its predecessor.
Kia has equipped the new Carnival with an array of impressive features, including dual sunroofs, a 12.3-inch curved display, a 360-degree camera, smart power sliding doors, and a rear LED combination lamp. Additionally, it includes front LED fog lamps, second-row powered ventilated seats, a premium Bose sound system with 12 speakers, a wireless phone charger, a head-up display, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a three-zone fully automatic temperature control system. Safety features such as eight airbags, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance system, and Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) have also been incorporated.
The new-generation Carnival is powered by a 2,151cc SmartStream inline four-cylinder CRDi engine that delivers 193 PS of power. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering a choice of driving modes including Eco, Normal, Sport, and Smart. The MPV is designed with a 72-liter fuel tank, enhancing its long-distance driving capability.
Dimensionally, the Carnival stands at 5,155 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,775 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,090 mm. This substantial build provides a spacious interior, contributing to its classification as a luxury MPV.
The vehicle is available in Glacier White Pearl and Fusion Black exterior colors, along with a dual-tone interior option featuring Tuscan and Umber shades. The Carnival is offered as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and is available in a single “Limousine” variant, priced at INR 63.90 lakh ex-showroom.
