Kieran Shoemark To Replace Frankie Dettori On Al Aasy In Dubai Sheema Classic

Kieran Shoemark is set to take the reins on Al Aasy in the upcoming Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan, replacing Frankie Dettori on the dual Group 1-winning mare.

The decision to have Shoemark ride Al Aasy comes after Dettori’s considerable tenure with the five-year-old, including their victories in the Coronation Cup at Epsom last year and their second-place finish in the Oaks a year prior at the same venue.

Having considered Dettori for the ride initially, the move to switch to Shoemark aims to maintain some continuity in the saddle for Al Aasy as they gear up for the 2024 Flat season.

Al Aasy, the daughter of Sea The Stars, has seen Dettori in the saddle for seven of her nine starts, showcasing a successful partnership that now transitions to Shoemark for the upcoming prestigious race.
