Kimmich Set for More Attacking Role This Season
Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany is making some exciting changes this season. After securing a 4-0 victory over SSV Ulm in the DFB-Pokal, the team is looking strong.
In that match, veteran Thomas Müller scored two goals, while Kingsley Coman and Harry Kane added to the tally. The lineup included midfield anchor Joshua Kimmich, who played alongside Aleksandar Pavlović and a talented front line featuring Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry.
A key addition this summer is João Palhinha from Fulham. Along with rumors of Leon Goretzka‘s departure, there has been a lot of talk around what Kompany’s preferred midfield setup will be.
Manuel Neuer, Bayern’s goalkeeper, expressed confidence in Kimmich’s performance against Ulm, especially his ability to push forward and create chances. Neuer pointed out that Kimmich was instrumental in assisting one of Müller’s goals.
Kimmich is delighted with this shift in strategy. He’s known to prefer playing in midfield rather than right back, and with more defensive options available, he can now roam and influence the attack more freely.
This new dynamic will surely make Kimmich happier, as he’ll be working alongside other midfielders like Palhinha, Pavlović, and perhaps even Konrad Laimer and Raphaël Guerreiro at times. Fans are eager to see how this plays out in their upcoming matches, especially against VfL Wolfsburg.
