Kings’ Keon Ellis Injured in Victory Over Rivals

Sacramento, California – The Kings entered Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers determined to break their two-game losing streak. Led by star guard Zach LaVine, who has faced challenges since his recent trade to Sacramento, the Kings built an impressive 18-point lead by halftime.
With speculation swirling around potential changes to the starting lineup, interim head coach Doug Christie opted to keep standout guard Keon Ellis on the bench to start the game. However, Ellis did come in as a substitute before suffering a concerning injury.
After landing awkwardly on his ankle, Ellis attempted to remain in the game but ultimately left for the locker room. His absence was felt quickly, given his significant contributions this season. The Kings ruled him out for the remainder of the game due to a right ankle injury.
Though Ellis was able to return briefly to the bench before heading back to the locker room, the team’s early diagnosis suggested a moderate injury. This season, Ellis has averaged 10.5 points and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 45.3% from three-point range, helping the Kings achieve an 8-3 record during his 11 starts.
Kings fans are hopeful that Ellis will not face an extended absence, especially given his rising impact on the team’s performance. As the Kings continue their season, they will monitor his recovery closely, looking to maintain momentum following the victory over the Clippers.
