Kings Vs Oilers Game 4 Nhl Playoff

EDMONTON, Alberta – The Los Angeles Kings aim for a split on the road as they face the Edmonton Oilers in Game 4 of their playoff series tonight, leading the best-of-seven matchup 2-1.

Forward Adrian Kempe remains a standout, continuing to lead all scorers with nine points after tallying four goals and five assists in the first three games. Anze Kopitar also plays a key role, contributing two assists in Game 3, which adds to his league-leading total of six assists this postseason.

The Kings held an optional morning skate today, with about half the roster participating. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper, who suffered his first playoff loss with the Kings in Game 3, faces the Oilers again tonight. His record stands at 2-1 after he made 29 saves on 34 shots in the last game.

Edmonton’s morning skate was fully attended, with goaltender Calvin Pickard expected to start after his victory in Game 3, where he recorded 24 saves on 28 shots.

Kings head coach Jim Hiller emphasized the team’s strong position, stating, “If you asked every single one of them, they would feel like we’re in a good spot.” His players believe they have the momentum to continue from their performance in Game 3.

Despite facing an early deficit in their last encounter, the Kings rallied back but ultimately fell 7-4 to the Oilers. “Being down 2-0 early is a tough hole,” Kuemper said. “We were able to claw back…but obviously, we would have not liked to be in that hole.”

Forward Kevin Fiala reinforced the importance of a strong start tonight, noting, “The start is obviously important, got to do a better job than last time.”

The battle between the Kings and Oilers includes a significant focus on special teams, with both teams scoring on their power plays in Game 3. Fiala noted that scoring boosts confidence, essential for upcoming matches.

Looking ahead, Hiller expressed hope that players making their playoff debuts in Game 3 might feel more comfortable in Game 4. “Now you go on the road and you really realize what it’s like,” he said.

Tonight’s game will be broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network West and ESPN LA 710, with Game 5 set for April 29 at 7 PM PT.
