Mitchell Robinson Knicks Playoff Performance

BOSTON, MA — The New York Knicks have taken a commanding 3-1 lead over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals after a decisive 121-113 victory on Monday night.

Mitchell Robinson, who has slowly returned to form after a series of injuries, played a pivotal role in the Game 4 win. The 7-foot center has emerged as a dominant force, especially on the boards, despite struggles at the free-throw line.

Robinson’s performance came as no surprise to Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla, who acknowledged his impact before the series began. The Knicks’ newly reshaped roster, which includes Karl-Anthony Towns, has benefitted significantly from Robinson’s defensive prowess.

During the regular season, Robinson was limited to just 17 games due to ankle injuries, missing a significant portion of the season. However, since making his return in February, he has been a catalyst for the Knicks, particularly in crucial playoff moments.

In Game 4, despite shooting only 7-of-23 from the free-throw line, his rebounding helped the Knicks maintain control of the game. “He’s a huge factor to what they do,” Mazzulla said regarding Robinson’s presence on the court.

The Knicks were down by as much as 14 points early in the third quarter but rallied back with a strong showing from Jalen Brunson, who scored 39 points, leading the team with remarkable resilience.

Mikal Bridges also provided critical contributions, scoring 23 points and ensuring that the Knicks could stay competitive against the Celtics. Bridges and Brunson effectively pushed the Knicks into a position where they could capitalize on their chances.

Heading into Game 5, Knicks players remain focused on the task at hand. “We’re just one win away,” Brunson reiterated, underscoring the significance of their current momentum.

As the Knicks prepare for the pivotal Game 5 back in Boston, the team’s collective effort and Robinson’s rebounding skills will be critical for advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years.
