Knicks Dominate Kings 143-120 Behind Triple-Double Performance

NEW YORK — Jalen Brunson scored 33 points, while Julius Randle added 20 points, 18 rebounds, and 11 assists in his sixth triple-double of the season, leading the New York Knicks to a decisive 143-120 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.
Brunson’s standout performance was complemented by Randle’s all-around effort, as the Knicks secured their 30th win of the season. OG Anunoby contributed 27 points, and Mikal Bridges finished with 25 points and 11 assists for the Knicks, who narrowly missed their season-high scoring mark.
Domantas Sabonis led the Kings with 31 points, while De’Aaron Fox added 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists. Despite their efforts, the Kings struggled to contain the Knicks’ offensive surge, particularly in the second half.
The Knicks built an early lead, going up 63-44 on Anunoby’s 3-pointer with 5:29 remaining in the second quarter. The Kings responded with a 23-6 run, cutting the deficit to 69-67 on Sabonis’ short bucket with 21 seconds left in the half. New York maintained a 72-67 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Knicks extended their advantage to 111-100 and dominated the fourth quarter, leading by as many as 24 points. The Kings, who haven’t won at Madison Square Garden since November 3, 2019, were unable to mount a comeback.
The game was briefly delayed in the fourth quarter when officials checked the height of the basket the Kings were shooting at. The Knicks’ sharp shooting from beyond the arc—50% (9 of 18) in the first half—proved pivotal, while the Kings managed just 35.3% (6 of 17) from 3-point range.
Brunson and Randle, both recently named All-Star starters, became the first Knicks duo to earn that honor since Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe in 1975. The Knicks improved to 30-16, while the Kings fell to 23-23.
Up next, the Knicks host the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, while the Kings travel to face the Brooklyn Nets.
