New York Knicks Vs Chicago Bulls Overtime Game

NEW YORK, NY — The New York Knicks edged out the Chicago Bulls 113-111 in an overtime thriller on February 20, 2025, at Madison Square Garden. The victory marks the Knicks’ third consecutive win as they continue to fortify their position in the playoff race, now boasting a record of 36-18 after the All-Star break.

Karl-Anthony Towns led the Knicks with a standout performance, scoring 40 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson contributed 22 points and 12 assists. Despite being without key players OG Anunoby and Josh Hart, the Knicks managed to secure their win against the Bulls, who have now lost five straight games.

Chicago’s Nikola Vucevic and Josh Giddey put forth notable performances, with Vucevic scoring 27 points and collecting 16 rebounds, while Giddey added 21 points. However, the Bulls fell short after Vucevic’s potential game-winning shot was blocked by Mikal Bridges in the closing seconds of regulation.

The game’s pivotal moment came in the fourth quarter when Vucevic’s three-pointer put the Bulls ahead 104-102 with just 50 seconds left. Brunson quickly responded with a step-back jumper to tie the game. A last-second attempt by Vucevic to clinch the win was thwarted by Bridges, forcing the match into overtime.

Overtime saw Giddey hit a critical three-pointer, but the Knicks quickly retaliated with a 9-0 run, highlighted by three straight baskets from Towns. The Bulls pulled within two points late in the extra period, but Vucevic missed an 8-foot jumper that would have sent the game to a second overtime, sealing the Knicks’ victory.

In the midst of their current stretch without key players, Knicks’ Coach Tom Thibodeau praised the team’s depth and resilience. “It’s about sticking together and finding ways to win, no matter the circumstances,” Thibodeau said postgame.

Looking forward, the Knicks will travel to face the Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, while the Bulls prepare to host the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. With this win, the Knicks reinforce their standing in a highly competitive playoff environment.
