Knicks Eye Major Trades Ahead of NBA Season

NEW YORK, NY — The NBA Finals have yet to conclude, but the New York Knicks are already in the spotlight with significant trade rumors surfacing. Fans and analysts are speculating who the Knicks might pursue as their next head coach and whether a major trade will be on the horizon.
Mikal Bridges has emerged as a key player in potential trade discussions. After a challenging season with the Brooklyn Nets, where he struggled offensively, Bridges remains an elite defender and a solid scorer. Analysts believe Bridges could be an ideal fit on the Golden State Warriors alongside stars like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
Simon, a basketball analyst, commented, “He contributed 17.6 points and 3.7 assists on an impressive 57.0% effective field goal percentage, and there’s plenty of reason to believe that he could mesh well with Curry and the rest of the Warriors under head coach Steve Kerr.” The Knicks could leverage Bridges to acquire valuable bench players and young prospects, addressing the team’s depth issues.
In a complex trade proposal, the Knicks, Bucks, and Memphis Grizzlies are believed to be engaged in discussions that could send Giannis Antetokounmpo to New York. Following the injury of star teammate Damian Lillard, Antetokounmpo may be reconsidering his future with the Bucks. Under this deal, OG Anunoby might move to Milwaukee, and Bridges could travel to Memphis.
Eric Pincus from Bleacher Report noted the potential trade could lead to a more balanced roster for the Knicks, sticking alongside stars like Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns if successful.
As part of their offseason strategy, the Knicks could utilize their taxpayer mid-level exception, valued at $5.7 million, to add another key player. Meanwhile, Towns, who had a standout first season in New York, is also a name to watch as the franchise considers bold moves to secure a championship.
The Knicks are under pressure to make impactful decisions to enhance their roster and remain competitive in the Eastern Conference. As the team evaluates their options, uncertainty lingers about whether any significant changes will materialize before the season begins.
