Knicks Stun Celtics Again, Take 2-0 Lead in Playoffs

BOSTON — The New York Knicks staged another dramatic comeback, defeating the Boston Celtics 91-90 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Wednesday night. This victory gives New York a commanding 2-0 series lead as the teams head to Madison Square Garden for the next game.
Despite trailing by as many as 20 points during the game, the Knicks managed to pull off the victory with a significant 38-17 run in the fourth quarter. Jalen Brunson led New York with 23 points, including crucial baskets down the stretch, while Mikal Bridges scored 14 points, all in the final period.
The Celtics, defending champions and the No. 1 seed in the East, had a strong start, leading 73-53 with over 14 minutes left to play. However, they struggled to maintain their momentum as New York tightened its defense and held Boston to just 25% shooting from three-point range.
Boston’s star player, Jayson Tatum, finished with only 13 points on 5-of-19 shooting. He struggled to find his rhythm late in the game, including a turnover on Boston’s final possession that led to the Knicks securing the win.
“It’s a tough situation being down 0-2, but we need to stay focused and figure things out for Game 3,” Tatum said postgame.
With back-to-back strong performances, the Knicks now return home with the opportunity to take a commanding lead in the series. “This team is locked in, and we know what we can do if we continue to play together,” Brunson stated after the game.
Game 3 is set for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks will look to extend their series lead. Meanwhile, the Celtics need to regroup and find a way to reverse their fortunes after losing two home games.
