LA Knight Advances in Money in the Bank Qualifier on SmackDown

St. Louis, Missouri — LA Knight secured his spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match after defeating Aleister Black and Shinsuke Nakamura in a thrilling triple threat showdown on SmackDown, airing on May 23.
The match was crucial for both Knight and Black, as they aimed to continue their momentum in WWE. Black, who had remained undefeated since his return to the promotion last month, appeared poised to win when he delivered a devastating Black Mass to Nakamura. However, Knight seized the moment, tossing Black out of the ring and pinning Nakamura to claim victory.
“It was a hard-fought match, but I saw my opportunity and took it,” Knight said after the match. “Now, it’s time to show Solo Sikoa and everyone else what I’m capable of at Money in the Bank.”
This win means that Knight will join Solo Sikoa in the men’s ladder match scheduled for June 7 in Inglewood, California. Sikoa and Knight have a history of tension, which is expected to boil over in their upcoming encounter.
Meanwhile, the road to the Women’s Money in the Bank match continues as Jade Cargill, Naomi, and Nia Jax are set to compete for the final qualifying spot next Friday. With the stakes high and only two openings remaining, the excitement is palpable among fans.
Earlier in the night, Zelina Vega and Charlotte Flair battled in a non-title match, showcasing the competitive spirit of WWE’s women’s division. The riveting events of SmackDown promise to set the stage for a thrilling ladder match coming up soon.
