Koby Brea Emerges as Top Three-Point Shooter for Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky Wildcats guard Koby Brea has been recognized as the top three-point shooter in the country heading into the 2024-25 college basketball season. This accolade comes from Andy Katz, highlighting Brea’s exceptional shooting ability that he demonstrated last season at Dayton.
Brea transferred to Kentucky this offseason, attracted by Coach Mark Pope’s offense, which is designed to capitalize on his shooting skills. During his time at Dayton, Brea shot a nation-leading 49.8% from three-point range on 201 attempts, making him a crucial addition to the Wildcats’ roster.
Under Coach Pope, the Kentucky basketball team is expected to attempt a high volume of three-pointers, with assistant coach Cody Feuger aiming for 35 three-point attempts per game. This strategy aligns perfectly with Brea’s strengths, as he expressed his excitement about the system during summer interviews. “That was the biggest draw for me. I was probably coming here just to see how perfect the system was for me,” Brea said, praising Coach Pope’s ability to explain where he can excel in the offense.
Brea’s integration into the team has been seamless, and his performance is anticipated to be a key factor in the Wildcats’ success this season. The team recently demonstrated its offensive prowess by rolling past Bucknell with a 100-72 victory, showcasing the potential of their new shooting-heavy strategy.
