Kolkata Knight Riders Sunrisers Hyderabad Ipl 2025

Delhi, India – The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will meet for their final match of IPL 2025 on May 25. Both teams have faced disappointing seasons, leading to their elimination from playoff contention.

In their last five matches, KKR managed to win two while SRH achieved three victories. KKR’s most recent game was 17 days ago, where they did not get to play due to rain, causing concerns over their readiness for this encounter.

Despite their struggles throughout the season, a win in this match could allow either team to finish sixth in the standings. This gives both teams motivation to end their campaigns on a positive note at the neutral venue of Delhi.

SRH comes into this match with some momentum, having defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 42 runs and Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets. KKR, however, has wrestled with form, struggling particularly in the middle order.

Key players for KKR like Rovman Powell and Moeen Ali are unavailable, but Venkatesh Iyer is expected to return from injury, potentially replacing Manish Pandey. The team might also give an opportunity to explosive opener Luvnith Sisodia.

On the other hand, SRH’s Eshan Malinga, who was acquired for INR 1.2 crore, has impressed late in the season, claiming ten wickets in six matches. The team is also evaluating whether to retain Shami for future seasons, as he has struggled this IPL.

The match is expected to take place under dry conditions, with spinners enjoying an edge at the Arun Jaitley Stadium this season, where the average first-innings score has been 191.
