Kosovo Vs Switzerland World Cup Qualifiers

PRISTINA, Kosovo — Kosovo faces a must-win match against Switzerland on November 18 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Both teams have already secured spots in the top two of Group B, but Kosovo must win by at least six goals to claim first place and secure automatic qualification.

Kosovo enters the match trailing Switzerland by three points and with a goal difference of just +1, compared to Switzerland’s +12. The match is significant as it marks Kosovo’s bid for their first-ever World Cup appearance. Meanwhile, Switzerland looks to maintain their dominant form in the qualifiers.

Kosovo’s coach Franco Foda has guided his team to a commendable qualifying campaign, winning three of their five matches. After a 4-0 loss to Switzerland in the group opener, they have regrouped with victories against Sweden and a recent 2-0 win over Slovenia.

“We know what we need to do. It is a challenging task, but we are ready,” said Kosovo striker Lirim Kastrati.

Switzerland, on the other hand, comes into the match with a solid record, remaining unbeaten through their qualifying fixtures, including a convincing 4-1 victory over Sweden last weekend. Coach Murat Yakin expressed confidence in his squad, stating, “We have been strong throughout the qualifiers, and we want to end on a high note.”

With strong performances from their key players, including striker Breel Embolo, who has scored four goals in the qualifiers, Switzerland aims to secure their spot in the World Cup without defeat.

The match at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium is set for 7:45 PM local time, and it promises to be a thrilling encounter, especially for the hosts who are pushing for a historic achievement.
