Kraken Honor Fans on Special Day Amid Captain’s Return

SEATTLE, WA — The Seattle Kraken will pay tribute to their dedicated fan base this Saturday during the highly anticipated Kraken Day, coinciding with a home game against division rival Vancouver. The event celebrates the fans’ remarkable support, underscored by the record-breaking 32,000 ticket deposits made in just 24 hours back in March 2019.
This special day not only acknowledges the passion and loyalty of Seattle’s hockey community but also highlights the impactful work of the One Roof Foundation, the Kraken’s charitable initiative. The foundation focuses on ending youth homelessness, providing greater access to sports for young people, and advocating for environmental justice in the Pacific Northwest.
Fans have contributed significantly to the foundation’s efforts through game-day Anchor Auctions and 50/50 raffles, which benefit revitalization projects across the region. For this year’s Kraken Day, fans can take advantage of a one-time 32% discount at Kraken merchandise stores both in-person and online.
Seattle Kraken captain Jordan Eberle, who recently returned to the ice after a significant injury, is eager to represent the team in this celebration of their fans and community. Eberle missed 40 games due to an unprecedented pelvic injury, creating a sense of urgency for both him and the team as they aim to boost their performance following a difficult stretch.
“Pretty disappointed in the way the [St. Louis] game went. It’s about competing and putting in the effort,” Eberle stated, referring to a tough 7-2 loss against the Blues. “We just need to get back to battling and executing the way we know we can.”
The Kraken, currently sitting at 25 wins and 31 losses, find themselves in the midst of a tough Pacific Division race. With Vancouver leading the final playoff spot and closely followed by Calgary, every game holds significant weight on the playoff outlook. Eberle emphasizes the critical nature of each upcoming match, reinforcing the need for a strong effort on Kraken Day.
The Vancouver Canucks, on a recent surge, are keen to maintain their playoff position, currently with 65 points. Quinn Hughes, Vancouver’s captain, has played an integral role in their success, leading all NHL defensemen with 46 assists and dominating points-per-game statistics. His performance against Seattle has notably been effective, with two goals and seven assists in just nine games.
As both sides prepare for a crucial matchup, the atmosphere at Climate Pledge Arena is expected to be electric, reflecting Seattle’s profound impact on the franchise’s development. The celebration of Kraken Day aligns with the franchise’s ongoing journey toward success and community involvement.
