KRC Genk U19 Sets Record with 8-0 Victory in Youth League

Genk, Belgium — KRC Genk U19 made a powerful statement in the Youth League by defeating Víkingur Gøta 8-0 on their home turf. This victory marks the largest win in Genk’s history in this prestigious tournament.

The young team from Limburg capitalized on their recent success as they prepare for an upcoming Europa League match. On Thursday night, Genk will host the fifth-placed La Liga team at the Cegeka Arena.

The match against Víkingur Gøta was a decisive one, with Genk players Achahbar, Decresson, Murenzi, Driessen, and Ouazzani Chahdi all scoring. Achahbar netted two goals, with strikes at the 5th and 66th minutes, while Decresson found the net twice as well at the 7th and 37th minutes. Murenzi scored two first-half goals in the 12th and 27th minutes, and Driessen and Ouazzani Chahdi sealed the victory with goals in the final minutes.

This overwhelming win makes the return match on November 4 virtually unnecessary, though it is still scheduled to take place in Genk.
