Kyler Murray Foot Injury News

TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray‘s availability for the upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts is uncertain due to a foot injury sustained during last weekend’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. Murray did not practice on Wednesday and is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon.

Murray exited the game late in the third quarter after a fumble and was evaluated in the locker room, missing two plays before returning. This season, he has thrown for 962 yards, completing 68.3% of his passes with six touchdowns and three interceptions.

If Murray cannot play on Sunday, veteran backup Jacoby Brissett will start in his place. Brissett, who played for the Colts from 2017 to 2020, has significant experience, with a total of 53 career starts and 19 wins.

<p“Brissett is a true pro,” Gannon said. “He understands the details of the game. He loves to prepare, practice, and play.”

Brissett’s transition from backup to starter is made more challenging by his limited time with the first team, but his teammates have expressed confidence in his abilities. Wide receiver showed faith in Brissett, stating, “He’s been such a good leader and mentor since he got here.”

The game will be held this Sunday, October 12, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Eastern time. Currently, Arizona holds a 2-3-0 record and sits in fourth place in the NFC West, while Indianapolis leads the AFC South with a record of 4-1-0.

In related news, the Cardinals placed tight end Tip Reiman on injured reserve and signed tight end Nick Muse to their practice squad.
