Kylian Mbappe Agrees to Join Real Madrid After PSG Contract Expires
French football superstar Kylian Mbappe has reportedly reached a deal to join Spanish club Real Madrid once his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) comes to an end, according to multiple sources. The 25-year-old World Cup winner is set to join a team that already boasts talented young players such as Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr.
During his time at PSG, Mbappe has been a prolific goal scorer, netting 241 goals in 288 appearances for the club. His impending move to Real Madrid is expected to add even more firepower to the Spanish side.
While the agreement has been reached, Mbappe has not yet informed PSG or Real Madrid. However, sources indicate that his decision has been finalized. Negotiations with Real Madrid will likely involve his desire to represent France in the upcoming Olympic Games, which will be held in his home country.
It should be noted that Mbappe’s decision to join Real Madrid could still change, as he had previously made a U-turn on a move to the Bernabeu in 2022. Until the official signing of the deal, there remains a possibility for a change of heart.
PSG reportedly offered Mbappe a significant pay raise on his current €72 million gross salary, but the France international turned down the proposal. By leaving the club as a free agent, Mbappe will forgo bonuses worth around €100 million. It is expected that his wages at Real Madrid will be significantly lower compared to his current earnings.
Having grown up idolizing Real Madrid legends Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo, Mbappe has always dreamed of playing for the Spanish giants. Sources indicate that he believes this is the right time in his career to make the move to the Spanish capital.
Now that Mbappe’s future has been decided, PSG will implement their backup plan. They have reportedly identified Erling Haaland, currently at Borussia Dortmund, as Mbappe’s replacement.
