Philadelphia, PA – Former field hockey player Kylie Kelce is on a mission to instill body positivity in her three daughters, Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and her youngest whose name has yet to be revealed. The wife of NFL star Jason Kelce, who is currently expecting their fourth child, says she wants her daughters to love and accept their bodies, shying away from the negative body image conversations she experienced growing up.

“In the generation that I grew up in, it was a lot of discussing bodies instead of how much they could do,” Kylie, 32, said in a Feb. 6 interview with TODAY. “I’m so glad that the narrative is shifting.”

To embrace this positive shift, Kylie became an ambassador for in January, using her own past struggles with body image to empower her children. She shared that her eldest daughter, Wyatt, is “shooting up like a little string bean” and that she makes sure to highlight the positives of Wyatt’s height. “I’ll say, ‘How cool is that? You are so tall you can wash your hands without a stool’ And she’ll sort of light up,” Kylie recalled. “It really is taking those little teeny, tiny moments and making sure that there’s a positive spin on something that is clearly starting to come to their attention.”

This emphasis on positivity comes after Kylie candidly discussed being bullied in high school, including being criticized for her height or even misgendered. “There was a period of time where I was like, ‘Don’t call me big,’” she told guest Drew Afualo on the Not Gonna Lie Podcast, hosted by her. “I would be like, ‘I’m not big, I’m tall.’ There was this whole idea that I had to switch the narrative of. Not allowing those words to hold the weight that they expected them to hold with me.”

Kylie, who played field hockey through high school and college, acknowledged that people often commented on her height because women are expected to be shorter. But she quickly rejected that societal expectation and embraced her tall stature. “You’re gonna look at me and be like, ‘you’re huge.’ Yeah. I f–king am. Yes, I’m huge. Yeah, I’m big,” she confidently stated.
