Lady Vols Face Ohio State for Spot in Super Regionals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Lady Vols are one win away from another Super Regional appearance after defeating Miami (Ohio) 17-0 in the Knoxville Regional on May 16. They will face Ohio State on May 18, a matchup that could determine who moves forward in the NCAA Tournament.
The Lady Vols, who stand at 42-14, have shown impressive performance in regional play, winning both of their games. Ohio State, with a record of 45-13-1, must win twice on Sunday to advance.
This matchup is part of the Knoxville Regional, which will pitch the winner against the Baton Rouge Regional champion in the Super Regionals next week. After their upset loss to Southeastern Louisiana, the top seeded LSU has been eliminated, leaving Nebraska and Southeastern Louisiana to battle it out for the Baton Rouge title.
The Tennessee vs. Ohio State game is set to begin at noon at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium and will air on ESPN2. Fans can also stream the game through the ESPN app, which has a free trial for new subscribers.
The double-elimination format at the stadium means every match is crucial for teams hoping to clinch a Super Regional spot. The Lady Vols are looking to capitalize on their strong momentum, following their success over Miami (Ohio).
“We have worked hard to get to this point,” said Tennessee head coach. “Our focus remains on executing our game plan and staying confident against Ohio State.”
As the NCAA Tournament progresses, each game becomes increasingly important, and both teams are looking to solidify their paths to the Women’s College World Series.
