Goodwin, a 26-year-old guard, has made a significant impact since joining the Lakers in early February, averaging 6.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game over eight outings. With the Lakers looking to solidify their playoff roster, the decision to promote Goodwin reflects confidence in his ability to perform under pressure.

Head Coach JJ Redick has praised Goodwin’s contributions, acknowledging him as a crucial part of the team’s rotation. “He’s become the ninth man, and depending on the night and matchups, he could arguably be the eighth man,” Redick said. “His versatility adds depth to our lineup.”

To facilitate Goodwin’s promotion, sources indicate that the Lakers might waive forward Cam Reddish.
