Lamar Jackson’s Impressive 2024 Stats and Injury Update Ahead of Week 10
Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, is having another stellar season in 2024, solidifying his position as one of the top contenders for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award. Through the first nine games of the season, Jackson has compiled impressive statistics that align with, and in some cases surpass, his previous MVP seasons.
In terms of passing, Jackson has thrown for 2,379 yards, averaging 264.3 yards per game, which is the highest rate of his career. He has completed 68.2% of his passes, resulting in 20 touchdowns and just two interceptions. His quarterback rating stands at 120.7, one of the best in the league this season.
On the ground, Jackson continues to be a formidable force, with 505 rushing yards on 84 carries, averaging 56.1 yards per game. While he is not on pace to break his own record for the most rushing yards in a season by a quarterback, he is still projected to have one of the top rushing seasons for a quarterback, potentially ending the year with around 953 yards if he maintains his current pace.
Jackson’s performance has been consistent with his previous MVP seasons. In 2019, he became the second unanimous MVP pick, and in 2023, he earned his second MVP honor. His current stats are comparable to, if not better than, those from his previous MVP campaigns.
Despite being listed on the injury report with a knee issue, Jackson has been practicing fully and does not currently have a game status designation for the upcoming Week 10 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. This game, scheduled for Thursday Night Football, will be a pivotal AFC North contest.
Jackson’s health has been monitored closely, but head coach John Harbaugh has indicated that there is no concern about the minor knee and back injuries affecting his availability for the game against the Bengals.
