Large Power Outage Hits Greenbrier, Leaving Thousands in the Dark

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A significant power outage in the Greenbrier area affected more than 5,100 Dominion Energy customers Friday night.

The outage began shortly before 9 p.m. near Greenbrier Parkway, impacting nearby areas such as Executive Boulevard, Volvo Parkway, and Eden Way, as well as the neighborhoods in Ashley Woods.

By 11 p.m., the number of customers without power decreased to around 800. According to Dominion Energy’s outage map, power restoration is expected between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. tonight.

The cause of the outage remains under investigation. 13News Now has contacted Dominion Energy for further details regarding the incident.
