Las Vegas Raiders Elevate Sincere McCormick Amid Injury Concerns Ahead of Week 12
The Las Vegas Raiders have made significant roster moves ahead of their Week 12 matchup against the Denver Broncos, particularly in response to ongoing injury issues. One of the key moves involves the elevation of running back Sincere McCormick from the practice squad to the active roster. McCormick, who was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Raiders in 2022, has shown promise in preseason games but has not yet been part of the final roster during the regular season.
Mccormick’s elevation is crucial given the injuries to the Raiders’ running back corps. Both Alexander Mattison and Zamir White are listed as doubtful for the upcoming game, with Mattison dealing with an ankle injury and White suffering from a quadriceps issue. This opens the door for McCormick to potentially see playing time alongside veteran Ameer Abdullah and rookie Dylan Laube.
Mccormick’s background is impressive, having won back-to-back Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year Awards in 2020 and 2021 while at the University of Texas San Antonio. He stands at 5’9″ with a sturdy build of 210 lbs and has a history of handling a significant number of carries in college, where he scored 35 total touchdowns over three seasons.
The Raiders are also dealing with defensive injuries, particularly in the secondary, where starting cornerbacks Nate Hobbs and Jakorian Bennett are expected to be out. Cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly, who was activated from the practice squad along with McCormick, will also be part of the defensive lineup. Kelly, a native of Las Vegas and a product of the University of Stanford, brings experience from his time with several NFL teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and Washington Commanders.
