In the semi-finals, Laura breezed through, finishing fourth with another amazing sub-four-minute performance. This earned her a spot in Saturday night’s Women’s 1500m final at the iconic Stade de France.
Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon, a strong favorite for the gold medal, won the semi-final. Team GB’s Georgia Bell also qualified with a solid second-place finish, setting up a thrilling final race.
As Laura reflects on her journey, she acknowledges the challenge ahead. ‘It’s easy to think about the final before you get there, but you need to get there first,’ she said. Her focus on the upcoming race is evident as she prepares for this pivotal moment in her career.
Having already placed seventh in Rio and won silver in Tokyo, Laura expressed her excitement for being a three-time Olympian and finalist. ‘I’m pretty chuffed with that,’ she said.
With two sub-four-minute 1500m races back-to-back, Laura believes she has more speed in her. ‘I know I can run faster than I did in Paris (Diamond League),’ she added, looking forward to the challenge of the final.
