As I Lay Dying Faces Significant Lineup Changes and Tour Cancellations
As I Lay Dying, the American metalcore band from San Diego, California, is currently navigating a period of significant turmoil. In the past week, the band has experienced several key lineup changes and tour cancellations. Bassist Ryan Neff, who joined the band in 2022 following the departure of long-time bassist and clean vocalist Josh Gilbert, has left As I Lay Dying after a two-year tenure.
Adding to the band’s challenges, guitarist Ken Susi, who joined As I Lay Dying in March 2023 after leaving Unearth, has also announced his departure. Susi cited that his personal morals had been tested to a breaking point as the reason for his exit.
The band’s Europe tour has been cancelled amidst these lineup changes and internal issues. This comes on the heels of previous turmoil, including the departure of drummer Jordan Mancino, one of the band’s founding members, who was replaced by Nick Pierce for live performances.
As I Lay Dying, formed in 2000 by vocalist Tim Lambesis, has a history of lineup changes but has managed to maintain a strong presence in the metalcore scene. The band’s future plans and lineup are currently uncertain as they navigate these recent developments.
