LCK Finals Set for High-Stakes Clash in Busan

Busan, South Korea — The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) will hold its Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) representative selection from June 13 to 15 at Sasik Indoor Gymnasium. Two teams will earn spots to compete in MSI in Vancouver.
On June 13, the tournament kicks off with Gen.G taking on Hanwha Life Esports for the LCK’s top seed. Gen.G finished the regular season undefeated with an 18-0 record and extended their winning streak to 21 matches. Meanwhile, Hanwha Life secured second place with four losses, but achieved significant wins over T1 and BNK FEARX in Week 9.
Historically this season, Gen.G holds a 3-2 edge in best-of-three matchups, but Hanwha Life has managed to beat them in both playoff series, including the LCK Cup final.
The next day, T1 will face kt Rolster, who enters the semifinal on a high note after sweeping their last two matches. They began their postseason with a 2-1 win over Dplus Kia, followed by a decisive 3-0 victory against Nongshim RedForce in the MSI qualifier.
T1 has a dominant 20-4 head-to-head advantage against kt Rolster since Spring 2021, and they are looking to leverage their strong performance to secure a spot in the finals.
The final match on June 15 will see the losing team from the Gen.G versus Hanwha Life matchup contend against the winner of T1 versus kt Rolster. This match will determine the LCK’s second seed for MSI.
All matches will employ the Fearless Draft format to maintain competitive balance. This weekend of high-stakes action promises to showcase the best of League of Legends in Korea.
