Lebron James Bronny James Car Crash Lawsuit

Los Angeles, CA — LeBron James and his son Bronny James are facing legal troubles following a lawsuit alleging their involvement in a 2022 car crash outside of Los Angeles. The lawsuit, filed on October 23, 2024, claims that the duo crashed their vehicle into plaintiffs April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen on November 13, 2022, while traveling on Pearlblossom Highway in Littlerock, California.

Lopez and McGillen are seeking unspecified damages for medical injuries and vehicle depreciation. In their filing with Los Angeles County Superior Court, they assert that they suffered ongoing injuries that necessitate medical treatment. The plaintiffs claim their vehicle was damaged, stating that the incident resulted in substantial loss to its value.

In response, attorneys for LeBron, 40, and Bronny, 20, formally denied “each and every allegation” made in the lawsuit. “We deny that plaintiffs have been damaged in the sum alleged or at all,” the legal representatives wrote. The response, filed on February 20, included 14 defenses against the claims, asserting that any injuries or damages were caused by parties other than the James family.

As part of the complaint, Lopez and McGillen detailed that the Jameses “negligently owned, controlled, repaired, entrusted, maintained and operated an automobile.” However, neither the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station nor the California Highway Patrol has any reports documenting the incident.

ESPN reported that this lawsuit emerged just after LeBron and Bronny made history by becoming the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA, a momentous occasion celebrated on October 22, 2024.

The allegations also state that the plaintiffs experienced “personal injuries which caused and will continue to cause pain, discomfort, and physical disability.” They have reportedly needed ongoing medical attention, including care from physicians and surgeons.

As the situation unfolds, the James family maintains their innocence, seeking to have the lawsuit dismissed and recover legal costs incurred.

Requests for comments from attorneys representing both parties have yet to be answered.
