Lebron James Lakers Madison Square Garden Game

NEW YORK — LeBron James added another milestone to his legendary career Saturday night, becoming the seventh player in NBA history to make 2,500 three-pointers during the Los Angeles Lakers‘ game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

The 40-year-old forward achieved the feat in his first 24 minutes of play, finishing the game with 23 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists while shooting 10-of-15 from the field. James also went 1-of-2 from beyond the arc, securing his place in the exclusive 2,500 three-point club.

“Congrats to @KingJames of the @Lakers on becoming the 7th player in NBA history with 2,500 3-POINTERS MADE!” the NBA tweeted during the game.

James entered the contest averaging 23.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game this season, shooting 51.2% from the field and 37.9% from three-point range in 43 games. His consistent performance has been a key factor in the Lakers’ strong start to the season, as they hold the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 27-19 record.

The Lakers have been particularly effective recently, going 7-3 in their last 10 games. Their most recent victory came against the Washington Wizards, where James contributed 24 points, three rebounds, and 11 assists in a 134-96 blowout win.

Despite being in his 22nd NBA season and seventh with the Lakers, James continues to defy age, remaining one of the league’s top 25 players. His success at Madison Square Garden has been especially notable, with a 12-1 record in his last 13 games at the iconic venue.

The Lakers will wrap up their road trip Tuesday evening when they face James Harden and the LA Clippers. Los Angeles has struggled slightly on the road this season, with an 11-13 record in 24 games away from Crypto.com Arena.
