LAS VEGAS — The Lego Group announced a multi-year partnership with F1 Academy on Nov. 20, 2025, which will see the company fielding a branded car in the all-female racing series starting in the 2026 season. Dutch driver Esmee Kosterman will take the wheel of the colorful Lego car, which features a unique design inspired by Lego’s playful aesthetics.

As part of the partnership, Lego will also release a Speed Champions F1 Academy car set available for pre-order. This set, which fans can build at home, will replicate the No. 32 car driven by Kosterman, an exciting addition tailored for young motorsport enthusiasts and aspiring female racers.

“We’re so proud to welcome the Lego Group as an Official Partner of F1 Academy,” said Susie Wolff, managing director of F1 Academy. “This collaboration is about building belief and opportunity for young girls who see themselves in motorsport, whether as a fan or a driver.”

Julia Goldin, Chief Product and Marketing Officer of the Lego Group, emphasized the initiative’s mission: “F1 Academy is leveling the playing field, and we can’t wait to see Lego Racing on the grid. This will inspire young girls and offer them a clear pathway to see their potential in the sport.”

Kosterman, who has already made headlines as a competitive racer, expressed her excitement about the collaboration: “To be the first driver for Lego Racing is an incredible opportunity. I hope this inspires future generations of female drivers to realize their dreams.”

The vibrant livery of the Lego car combines traditional racing motifs with the playful design typical of Lego products, aiming to engage younger audiences and challenge stereotypes in motorsport. This initiative arises as interest in F1 continues to grow among young women—research indicates that 42% of Formula 1’s fanbase is now female.

The Lego Speed Champions F1 Academy Race Car set is scheduled for release on March 1, 2026, and includes intricate details modeled after Kosterman’s real-life racing experience.
