LiAngelo Ball Receives Blunt Advice from Brother Lonzo on NBA Future
LiAngelo Ball, the middle brother of the Ball family, continues to pursue his dream of joining his siblings, Lonzo and LaMelo, in the NBA. Despite facing significant challenges, LiAngelo remains determined to achieve his goal. In a recent appearance on Angel Reese‘s podcast, ‘Unapologetically Angel,’ LiAngelo expressed his desire to play in the NBA, specifically mentioning his aspiration to join his brothers in the league.
Lonzo Ball, who currently plays for the Chicago Bulls, offered some blunt advice to his brother. Lonzo suggested that LiAngelo’s path might be more viable overseas rather than waiting for an opportunity in the NBA or the G League. ‘I think his path is overseas, it’s been overseas,’ Lonzo said, highlighting that LiAngelo had previously performed well in summer league games but failed to translate that success into a permanent position.
LiAngelo has turned down overseas offers in the past, hoping to secure a spot in the G League. He last played in the G League from 2021-2023 with the Greensboro Swarm, the affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets where LaMelo Ball plays. Recently, LiAngelo played briefly for the Astros de Jalisco in a Mexican pro league before an injury forced him to return to the United States for rehabilitation.
While an NBA career for LiAngelo seems unlikely at this point, he remains committed to his goal. Meanwhile, Lonzo Ball has made a notable return to the Bulls this season after being sidelined for nearly two years due to knee injuries. Despite a recent wrist injury, Lonzo has shown promising form in his limited appearances this season.
LaMelo Ball, who plays for the Charlotte Hornets, has become one of the most exciting players in the NBA, although trade rumors have been circulating given the Hornets’ current performance. The Ball brothers continue to support each other in their respective basketball journeys, with LiAngelo holding onto the hope of one day joining his siblings in the NBA.
