Lions Lead Finals with Game 3 Victory Over Walleye

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, Quebec – The Trois-Rivières Lions clinched a 3-2 victory against the Toledo Walleye on Wednesday in Game 3 of the 2025 Kelly Cup Finals, taking a 2-1 series lead in front of 3,497 fans at Colisée Vidéotron.
The Lions jumped ahead early, scoring just 42 seconds into the game when Chris Jandric redirected the puck past Walleye goalie Jan Bednar for his third goal of the postseason.
Trevor Cormier further extended the Lions’ lead at 12:20, slipping behind Toledo’s defense, receiving a pass from Alex Beaucage, and firing it past Bednar for his second goal of the playoffs.
Toledo responded 9:08 into the second period when Carson Bantle’s shot from the left-wing circle found the net, marking his fifth goal of the postseason.
Anthony Beauregard added a goal for Trois-Rivières at 15:11 of the third period, shooting quickly from behind the net to restore the Lions’ two-goal lead against Bednar.
The Walleye made a late push, narrowing the gap to one goal at 17:34 with Colin Swoyer’s power-play goal from the high slot, scored after Bednar was pulled for an extra attacker.
Game 4 of the series is set for Friday at 7 p.m. ET at Colisée Vidéotron. Fans can catch all the action live.
NOTES: In the previous 14 Riley/Kelly Cup Finals series tied 1-1, the Game 3 winner has gone on to secure the series 11 times. Trois-Rivières has scored first in all three Finals games and in 17 out of 19 postseason games.
