Lions Reveal Injury Report Ahead of Sunday Night Matchup Against Eagles
ALLEN PARK, Mich. — The Detroit Lions have released their injury designations for Week 11 as they prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. The Lions (6-3) declared four players out and ten others as questionable.
Tight end Sam LaPorta, cornerback Terrion Arnold, safety Kerby Joseph, and defensive end Josh Paschal will not participate in the game due to injuries. LaPorta, who has had a solid season with 40 catches and three touchdowns, has not practiced all week due to a back issue. This marks only the second game he has missed in his three-year career.
Coach Dan Campbell expressed confidence in Brock Wright stepping up as the starting tight end. Wright, however, is among the ten players listed as questionable due to an ankle injury. “Brock’s a guy we don’t talk a lot about, but he’s the jack of all trades,” Campbell said of Wright’s importance to the team.
The Lions hope to see the return of cornerback D.J. Reed, who has been practicing after recovering from an injury. Reed indicated he feels ready to play, but Campbell emphasized they will not rush him back.
Defensive back Amik Robertson has been versatile, filling in as a starter due to Arnold’s absence. “We’re excited to see how he performs,” Campbell stated, noting the depth the team has in secondary positions.
Other players listed as questionable include offensive tackle Taylor Decker, who has been managing a shoulder injury, and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez, who is nearing activation after being on the injured list.
In positive news, center Graham Glasgow has returned to full practice after a back injury, and star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson is also expected to play despite missing practice earlier in the week.
While the Eagles report only one player as questionable, the Lions need to navigate their extensive injury list carefully. The game promises to be crucial for both teams in the playoff chase.
