Detroit Lions Vs Washington Commanders Playoff Game 2025

DETROIT, Mich. — The Detroit Lions have announced their inactive players ahead of their Divisional round playoff game against the Washington Commanders on Saturday night at Ford Field. The most notable change is the promotion of Teddy Bridgewater to QB2, with Hendon Hooker serving as the emergency third quarterback.

The Lions, who have eight offensive linemen active for the game, are eligible to expand their game-day roster from 47 to 48 players. With 55 players on the game-day roster, the team declared seven players inactive for the matchup. Bridgewater, signed late in the regular season, is active as the backup to Jared Goff, while Hooker, who served as the backup throughout the season, is inactive.

Guard Kevin Zeitler and defensive lineman Pat O’Connor were ruled out earlier in the week due to injuries. Other inactives for the Lions include linebacker Mitchell Agude, defensive tackle Brodric Martin, offensive lineman Colby Sorsdal, and tackle Giovanni Manu.

On the Commanders’ side, wide receiver KJ Osborn, quarterback Jeff Driskel, cornerback Michael Davis, running back Chris Rodriguez, linebacker Dominique Hampton, defensive end Andre Jones, and guard Chris Paul are inactive.

Bridgewater’s promotion highlights the Lions’ strategy of leveraging veteran experience in the playoffs. “We liked the idea of having a quarterback with his experience on hand during the playoffs,” a team spokesperson said. Bridgewater could step in if Goff faces any issues during the game.
