Lions Rookie Minicamp Signings Detroit

Detroit, MI – The Detroit Lions made roster moves on Monday, signing three players who participated in the weekend’s rookie minicamp. The additions include wide receiver Malik Taylor, defensive tackle Raequan Williams, and tight end Luke Deal.

Malik Taylor, a Flint native and former Ferris State standout, has spent time with several NFL teams since going undrafted in 2019. He has notable experience in special teams and caught seven receptions for the Green Bay Packers in the 2020-2021 seasons, along with two receptions for the New York Jets in 2023.

Raequan Williams, who played at Michigan State, went undrafted in 2020 and has spent the past two years on the active roster of the Chicago Bears. At minicamp, observers noted that the 6-foot-3, 300-pound Williams appeared to be quicker after seemingly slimming down.

Luke Deal is the rookie among the three signings. The 6-foot-5, 247-pound tight end played at Auburn, where he was primarily known for his blocking skills. In making room for Deal, the Lions waived undrafted rookie tight end Caden Prieskorn.

The Lions opened up two roster spots after they received a sixth-round pick, Ahmed Hassanein. The team’s coaching staff is looking to build depth and talent heading into the upcoming season.
