LIV Golf Secures Multi-Year Broadcast Deal with Fox Sports
NEW YORK — LIV Golf announced Thursday a multiyear broadcast agreement with Fox Sports, marking a significant step in the Saudi-backed league’s efforts to expand its U.S. audience. The deal will see all three rounds of LIV Golf tournaments broadcast live on Fox‘s network channels and streaming platforms, beginning with the 2025 season.
More than half of LIV Golf’s 14 tournaments will air on Fox or FS1, with select rounds broadcast on FS2, Fox Business Network, or the Fox Sports App. Every round will also be available for streaming on the Fox Sports App and LIV Golf+, the league confirmed. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, and it remains unclear whether Fox Sports will pay a rights fee to the tour.
“We are thrilled to partner with FOX Sports, one of the preeminent broadcast networks in the world,” said Scott O’Neil, LIV Golf’s newly appointed CEO, in a statement. “This relationship signals the next phase of growth as our league joins the company of the nation’s premier sports leagues and conferences.”
O’Neil, who previously served as the top executive at Merlin Entertainments, emphasized the league’s focus on attracting a younger, tech-savvy audience. “LIV Golf is drawing a younger, more active fan base, and this agreement will take our broadcast to new heights,” he added.
The deal represents a shift from LIV Golf’s previous arrangement with The CW Network, which relied on a revenue-sharing model rather than a rights fee. According to Golfweek, LIV struggled to gain viewership during its first two seasons, with fewer than 100,000 viewers tuning in for the 2024 individual championship.
Fox Sports expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “FOX Sports is excited to broadcast the LIV Golf League, showcasing athletes at the top of their game competing at an elite level for viewers across the nation,” said Jordan Bazant, Fox Sports executive vice president.
LIV Golf’s 2025 season will kick off Feb. 6-8 at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia, followed by tournaments in Adelaide, Australia (Feb. 14-16), Hong Kong (March 7-9), and Singapore (March 14-16). The first U.S. event is scheduled for April 4-6 at Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami, just one week before the Masters.
While the league gains a major broadcast partner, questions remain about its long-term viability and impact on the broader golf landscape. The agreement with Fox Sports, however, signals LIV Golf’s determination to establish itself as a permanent fixture in professional golf.
