Trent Alexander Arnold Liverpool Contract 2024

Liverpool has offered England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold a five-year contract worth £78 million, aiming to secure the future of the 26-year-old star amid interest from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants have reportedly made their interest official, but Liverpool has firmly rejected any approach for a January transfer.

Real Madrid contacted Liverpool to inquire about Alexander-Arnold’s availability during the winter transfer window, but no figures were discussed. Liverpool made it clear they have no intention of negotiating the vice-captain’s exit mid-season. Reports in Spain suggesting Alexander-Arnold has expressed a desire to join Real Madrid have been dismissed by the Anfield club.

From January 1, Alexander-Arnold can officially speak to foreign clubs about a potential free transfer at the end of the season. Real Madrid is expected to push for a pre-contract agreement, but Liverpool remains hopeful of retaining the player, who has been with the club since his youth.

Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold stems from their need to reinforce the right-back position following a season-ending ACL injury to Dani Carvajal in October. They view the Liverpool star as the ideal successor to the 32-year-old Spain international.

Liverpool, currently leading the Premier League by eight points with a game in hand, is determined not to weaken their squad mid-season. Manager Arne Slot‘s side is chasing both domestic and European glory, and Alexander-Arnold remains a key figure in their plans.

In other transfer news, Paris St-Germain is set to discuss a cash-plus-player swap deal with Aston Villa involving Randal Kolo Muani and Jhon Duran. Napoli is negotiating a six-month loan for Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa, while Manchester United‘s Joshua Zirkzee has attracted interest from Juventus.

Brighton has made a £23 million offer for Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis, and Bournemouth has agreed to sign Argentine left-back Julio Soler from Lanus for £12 million. Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Tyrell Malacia is a surprise target for Juventus as they seek a replacement for Danilo.

Real Madrid declined to comment when approached about their interest in Alexander-Arnold.
