Liverpool U21s and Liverpool U18s displayed impressive performances in their respective Premier League matches over the weekend. The U21s secured a 2-1 victory against Newcastle United at Whitley Park, with goals coming from Trey Nyoni and Kaide Gordon under the guidance of manager Barry Lewtas.

Noteworthy moments included Jayden Danns’ active role in setting up Nyoni’s goal and winning a penalty that Gordon successfully converted. Despite a goal from Newcastle’s Ben Parkinson, the young Reds emerged victorious, showcasing their skills and teamwork.

Lewtas commended his team’s efforts, singling out goalkeeper Oscar Kelly for outstanding saves that preserved their lead and secured the win. The U21s are set to face Aston Villa at Kirkby in their upcoming Premier League match.

In a separate encounter, Liverpool U18s faced a narrow 2-1 defeat against Manchester City at the Academy. Kareem Ahmed‘s goal, assisted by Kyle Kelly, offered hope for a comeback, but City managed to hold on to claim the victory.

The match saw notable contributions from players such as Kornel Misciur, Kieran Morrison, and Francis Gyimah. Despite City’s dominance, the young Reds showed resilience and potential, creating opportunities to level the score but falling short in the end.

Liverpool U18s are scheduled to play against Middlesbrough in their next league fixture, with an impending FA Youth Cup quarter-final against Leeds United drawing closer.
