Llandyrnog Stuns Kinmel Bay With Second Upset Win At Home

Llandyrnog continues to surprise football fans as they claim their second consecutive upset win on home turf. After defeating NFA to end their unbeaten record, Dyrny triumphed over a strong Kinmel Bay team who had previously secured four consecutive victories, propelling them to fourth place in the Premier Division standings.

Llandyrnog has a long-standing reputation for toppling strong opponents on their sloping pitch, and their recent performances have reignited memories of their past successes.

The first half of the match belonged to Kinmel Bay, with several clear-cut opportunities. However, Ryan Bennett, Llandyrnog’s goalkeeper, remained relatively untroubled.

The second half proved decisive as Robert Lawson’s flat free kick from distance caught the unsuspecting goalkeeper off guard, finding the net and breaking the deadlock nine minutes after the restart.

Kinmel Bay fought valiantly but failed to find the equalizer, despite hitting the bar and the base of the post in an uncharacteristic display of missed opportunities.

Late in the game, Ben Green‘s determination paid off as he chased down what appeared to be a lost cause, preventing the ball from going out for a goal kick. His cross found Tom Wynne, who skillfully secured the victory with a cheeky back heel flick.
