London Broncos Vs Leigh Leopards Match

The London Broncos are gearing up for their penultimate home game of the 2024 Super League season, set for Sunday, where they will face off against the Leigh Leopards for the second time this season.

Earlier in the season, the Broncos met the Leopards at the Leigh Sports Village in Round 18, resulting in a significant defeat for London, with Leigh coming away as 36-6 victors.

Historically, the two teams have competed on 32 occasions, where the Broncos have scored a total of 517 points while conceding 896 points. This indicates a competitive rivalry, with opportunities for improvement as they move forward.

Currently, the Broncos are in joint bottom position alongside Hull FC, having secured three wins this season—two against Hull FC and one against Catalans Dragons. The upcoming match presents a valuable chance for the team to leverage their recent form and potentially rise from the bottom spot in the Super League table.

The Leigh Leopards are enjoying a positive season with 11 wins, 10 losses, and 1 draw against the Castleford Tigers. They are also on a strong run, having won 6 of their last 7 matches, exemplified by a recent 26-0 victory against Salford Red Devils during the Magic Weekend.

Mike Eccles, the Broncos’ Director of Rugby & Performance, remarked on the challenge posed by the Leopards, acknowledging them as a fantastic team. Eccles noted that while all teams in the Super League are competitive, injury setbacks can hinder performance.

Regarding changes in the team’s lineup, Eccles mentioned that there have been some bumps and bruises from recent matches. The team will assess player conditions ahead of their Sunday fixture to ensure that injuries do not affect performance going forward.

Jensen Monk, a reserves player for the Broncos, shared his insights about the season, highlighting a roller-coaster experience due to an early injury that sidelined him for three months. Since his return, Monk has adapted well to the quicker pace and physicality of the Super League.

In addition to the game coverage, options to watch and listen include Super League+ and Sky Sports, along with live match updates available on the Broncos’ Twitter account.

Looking ahead, the Broncos will also be hosting the London & South-East Junior Rugby League Player of the Year Awards, celebrating the achievements of young players in the region during halftime of their final home Super League match against Leeds on September 1st.

This upcoming fixture against Leigh offers a crucial moment for the London Broncos as they seek to capitalize on their recent improvements and engage their supporters in an exciting atmosphere.
